Justin's Story
We first met Meg of Meg’s Giveback when our son Justin was receiving his first VAC inpatient treatment. It was mid-December 2017 and she and her mom were making the rounds on the floor delivering gifts on behalf of their wonderful organization. We were still new to the world of childhood cancer and Meg and her mom both made us feel comforted and not alone. We talked for a few minutes and Meg shared some of her own cancer story with us. And then Meg graciously offered Justin a special toy. When he wasn’t able to decide on his own, Meg selected the perfect toy, a supersize teddy bear! I could tell immediately that Justin loved it and knew it would be one of his favorites. And sure enough, it was. He ran to that bear on days where he was more tired or when he wasn’t feeling his best and needed extra comfort. He snuggled on our couch with the bear more times than I can count. And now, it sits in a special corner of his room where we hope he comes to visit and snuggle it 😊🙏❤️
